The Junior League of Poughkeepsie will be hosting a Mother’s Day Dinner for women in our communities’ shelters.

This event brings together women from several area shelters to celebrate their role as caretaker and women. These women are often victims of domestic violence and are in transition.

At the Mother’s Day Dinner, these women are served an elegant meal by Junior League Volunteers. These women are treated with dignity and the highest respect. This special event provides these women with an experience that often includes pampering and self-empowerment in a safe environment. It is truly an inspirational event for all participants.

In addition, their children accompany them and are kept entertained while the Mother’s enjoy a night out for themselves, which they truly deserve!

The residents of Grace Smith House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, Brookhaven residence and the YWCA Battered Women’s Services Program are all past recipients.
